Kylie graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biotechnology from Queensland University of Technology in 2004 and a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Griffith University in 2008.
She started her career in a plant molecular genetics research laboratory at the University of Queensland in 2005 and progressed into forensic DNA profiling for a multitude of species including humans, bovine, ovine and canine.
Prior to working at Bionics she was a Senior Scientist undertaking work in medical genetic testing and animal genetics. Her role at the institute involves managing the laboratory, facilities and OHS but more importantly, engineer wrangling.
